Anonymous asked: I love your blog!!! I've been in LDR for almost 7 months now. I live in Australia, he lives in the States. I have a question though. He might be visiting me in March and I'm starting to get nervous that he might not like me in person and I'm scared that we will not like each other when we meet. We connect really well through texts and skype though. We have always been comfortable with the way present ourselves to each other. No fancy clothing, we can just throw on t-shirts and jeans and
Part 2 of Question: we are good to go. I told him about my concern and he told me not to worry. Do you think we will be okay? Thanks!
Answer:
My Dear Reader,
Your boyfriend has already reassured you to not worry -my first piece of advise would echo the same. No one can accurately predict what the physical dynamic and chemistry are like between two people -that’s part of the beauty, and the mystery. :) If the two of you already enjoy a well established connection, then it’s very likely that your bonding experience will be easier and smoother.
My second piece of advise is simple: Be yourself. You mentioned that the two of have “always been comfortable with the way [you] present ourselves to each other.” If he is a person worthy of your time and affection, he would like you for the real you, the jeans-and-tee you. Because at the end of the day, we can’t hide our true selves forever and we owe it to our own happiness to express exactly who we are. If he doesn’t like the real you, then why would you ever want someone like that in the first place, right?
So. All my best to you and yours. Let me know how it goes!
Regards,
E.
